"Painted Wine," Miky Degni's exhibition in Modica

The exhibition "Il vino dipinto" (Painted Wine) by Milanese artist Miky Degni will open on September 2nd and run until October 2nd at the former Convent of Carmine in Modica, Sicily. The exhibition features twenty large-format works created with Italy's finest wines on Amalfi paper. The book of the same title will be presented during the opening. Degni, who has had one foot in Milan and the other in Modica for years, uses this exhibition to illustrate "how the language of art can be instrumental in promoting a region and its excellent winemaking."
The exhibition will feature works ranging from portraits to socially oriented pieces, touching on the themes of climate change and the denunciation of ongoing war conflicts, with a touch of provocation, in keeping with the artist's style, because, as he states, "art also has the duty to denounce the world's injustices." The opening will be followed by a guided tasting curated by ONAV, which has chosen to support the exhibition. The artist, a visual communications professional, has been active in the market since 1990 and has collaborated with major national and international companies. In 2022, he distinguished himself for his work and was awarded by the Marketing and Communication Club for the Unconventional Communication category.
As an artist, he has participated in the Venice Biennale curated by Vittorio Sgarbi, the Rome Triennale with Achille Bonito Oliva, and his works have been published in several Mondadori catalogs. A permanent installation of his is located at the Alexander Museum in Pesaro.
